Louis Dvorak joined the sales team
at Northrop and Johnson Yachts of
Fort Lauderdale.
Born and raised in Minnesota, Dvorak
bought his first sailboat while working
for his congressman in Washington,
D.C. A few years later, he landed a job
at an Annapolis yacht brokerage.
He then went to work for Gary Oviatt, who had just left Woods & Oviatt,
one of the largest Florida brokerage
firms at the time. After years of selling
Alaskans and similar cruising yachts,
Dvorak began looking toward megayachts.
“The idea of selling crewed yachts
and moving into the bigger international yacht market is something I’ve been
looking at for the last couple years,”
Dvorak said in a statement.
Michael C. Frohlich joined the
National Biodiesel Board as the Washington, D.C., director of communications.
Prior to joining the organization,
Frohlich served as communications director and chief spokesman for U.S.
Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-Texas).
The National Biodiesel Board is the
trade association of the biodiesel industry and the coordinating body for
biodiesel research and development in
the United States.
Pierre Gerber joined Global BSI
Rigging & Service, specializing in international aftermarket sales and service. Gerber is based in the company’s Haderslev, Denmark, offices and
works with clients throughout Europe
providing refit services, inspections
and technical reviews.
He will also consult for authorized
service centers such as A+ Rigging Mallorca and Rig Pro.
Gerber brings many years of superyacht technical service and experience
to the Global BSI Rigging & Service
team. The South African native was formerly captain of the 105-foot sloop
Chardonnay and recently assisted with
the refit of the 155-foot ketch Mikado
in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Global BSI specializes in the engineering and manufacture of premium rod
rigging systems for large sailing yachts,
with manufacturing and assembly facilities in Denmark and Portsmouth, R.I.
Alton J. (A.J.) Evans joined the
Newport, R.I. office of Sparkman &
Stephens as a yacht broker.
A lifelong boater, Evans has a background in admiralty law. After graduating
law school, he maintained his relationship with yachting
through brokerage.
He has logged
several Newport-
Bermuda races
among other notable voyages, including a trans-At-lantic and various
cruising routes.
Evans is a member Evans
of the New York Yacht Club, Storm
Trysail Club, and Cruising Club of
America.
Most recently, Rhode Island Gov.
Donald Carcieri appointed Evans to the
State Yachting Committee for a three-year term.
Trevor Goldsmith joined Marvair
of Cordele, Ga., to assist in the develop-
ment and marketing of the CMach line
of marine chillers, air handlers and
make-up air units.
“His 16-year experience and product
expertise in marine air conditioning
will enable us to bring unique, cost-effective solutions to the marine OEM
market,” said David L. Shuford, Marvair
vice president of marketing and international sales, in a statement.
Marvair, a division of Airxcel Inc.,
manufactures heating, ventilation and
air-conditioning products for marine
and other applications.
Albemarle Boats promoted Ted
Haigler to director of sales and marketing.
A graduate of the University of North
Carolina, Haigler has worked at Albemarle since 2003. He began in the quality assurance department and was promoted to customer service manager in
2004. He was promoted to dealer development manager in fall 2005.
From this position, he has led Albemarle’s efforts in expanding and
strengthening its dealer network during
the last three years.
The Hatteras Collection, a unit of
Brunswick Corp., includes Albemarle
Boats, Cabo Yachts and Hatteras
Yachts.
Peter B. Hamilton was named senior vice president and chief financial
officer at Brunswick Corp.
Hamilton, 61, served as Brunswick’s
chief financial officer from 1995 to
2000 before moving to operations. He
was president of Brunswick Bowling &
Billiards from 2000 to 2005, president
of the Life Fitness Division from 2005 to
2006, and president of the Brunswick
Boat Group from 2006 to 2007.
He also served as Brunswick vice
chairman of the board from 2000 to
2007.

E. McCoy. “His knowledge of
Brunswick and experience with all
facets of our business make him
uniquely qualified to lead our financial
team as we continue to implement our
strategic restructuring efforts.”
Hamilton replaces Peter G. Leem-putte, who is joining Mead Johnson Nutritionals as senior vice president and
chief financial officer.
Taylor Made Systems of Gloversville,
N. Y., made two appointments to its New
Product Development Team.
James Hoehn Jr. was named director of the NPD Team and Ryan Hoban
joined the group as industrial designer.
As key members of the engineering
team, they will be responsible for
adapting innovations in design, engineering and technology to the Taylor
Made product line.
In addition to running his own luxury
goods company, Terforma, for several
years, Hoehn served as senior development engineer for PlugPower. Prior to
that, he spent nearly 10 years in various
engineering positions for Intermagnet-ics General. He earned a Bachelor of
Science degree in physics from Siena
College in Loudonville, N.Y., and he
has been awarded two functional U.S.
patents for assembly part design.
Prior to joining Taylor Made Systems,
Hoban spent seven years as a designer
for Konopka Architecture. He has a
bachelor’s degree in industrial design
from Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of
Technology.

Ted Jones was named vice president
of Albury Brothers Boats. He will
head up all day-to-day operations.
Jones has more than 38 years of experience in the marine industry. He
founded the Sundance Marine chain of
South Florida dealerships, spent 15-plus
years with Hydra-Sports in manufacturing, and most recently spent five years
with multistore dealerships and Sailfish
boats in sales and service.
Albury Brothers, of Riviera Beach,
Fla., builds 20-, 23- and 27-foot center
consoles.

The Sacks Group Yachting Professionals announced Bill Nelson joined
the company’s brokerage department.
Nelson grew up in Whitefield, N.H.,
and was introduced to boating at the
age of 16 when he started club racing
at Mentor Harbor Yachting Club in
Ohio. Soon after attending Bowling
Green University, he moved to Fort
Lauderdale to pursue his career in the
yachting industry by starting as a
deckhand.
